- 2026 range
- over 300 mi (over 483 km)
- Why the range changed
- The long-range pack was dropped for weight
What changed
The 2017 car was promised with a 1.9-second 0–60 mph time, 620 miles of range, a 200 kWh pack, a top speed over 250 mph, 2+2 seats, three motors and all-wheel drive, a 200,000 USD base price, and 1,000 Founders Series cars at 250,000 USD. The 2026 claims are quicker in the Tesla acceleration lines, shorter in range, silent on capacity, and two seats or one.
The shorter range is described as deliberate. The long-range pack from the 2017 promise was dropped because the car needed to be lighter.
