What it is
Tesla showed the second-generation Roadster on 15 October 2026 at SpaceX's McGregor site near Waco, Texas. The outdoor date had moved off 1 October because of the weather.
Three trims were named: Performance, Thrust, and Rocket. Tesla's tagline presents the car as the last great driver's car, and Musk has said it is meant to be Tesla's only manually driven car in the long run.
How it is described
Musk has positioned it as a halo car rather than a volume product. A 2028 production target has been stated, and no price has been announced.
What is unconfirmed
Battery capacity and a final price are not in Tesla's published figures. Press estimates describe the pack as well over 100 kWh, with one estimate near 150 kWh.
