What it is
The redesigned car uses an angular, wedge-shaped body. Reference notes tie that shape to aerospace forms, including the SR-71 and the F-35.
How it is designed
The body is described with butterfly doors. The prototype was shown without side mirrors and without a windscreen wiper. Cameras are described where the law allows them, with mirrors expected on US cars, and a pop-out mount for a clip-in wiper.
Prototype
The prototype body is described as all carbon fibre. Some production panels may be metal. A reported width is 79 inches (2 m).
Not yet published by Tesla
Mirror and wiper plans for production cars are still descriptions from interviews, not a published options list.
